One of FarmMap4D’s unique ground cover tools is the Regional Cover Analysis.
The benchmarking tool is an extension of our Basic Statistics tool which allows the analysis of green and non-green vegetation cover over time.
Regional Cover Analysis takes it a step further, allowing you to analyse the ground cover performance on your property with any selected area in the region.
We default the search to compare with a 50km radius of your property to make sensible analysis in terms of similar land types and climate conditions. That said, you can select any area you which to compare.
The results are displayed over a 30-year time period and allow you to see trends in ground cover performance and where you are over or underperforming neighbouring land areas.
We make the tool even more flexible by allowing you to select specific land types on your property or specific paddocks or areas to benchmark with nearby land. This level of detail can be very useful as a lead indicator for changing farming practices or quantifying performances of past practices.
Results are summarised in a pdf report which can be helpful in supporting financing options or meeting environmental targets.
